Club Training (dates and types)

Our training sessions are great fun and varied every week. We use a variety of experienced coaches for both speed and incident training.

Typical training schedule

  • Tuesday
Tuesday sessions typically focus on award training and speed training.
Starts at 7.45pm in the Jubilee Sports Centre foyer (map)
  • Thursday
Thursday sessions focus competition training. This is usually an hour of dryside incidents and an hour of wetside incidents. The sessions also focus on competition events such as speed manikin tows, gates, fins and ropes
Starts at 6.45pm in the Small Meeting Room in the SUSU building, moves to the pool at 8pm.

Additional training sessions

Early morning fitness training is a great way to kick start the day and stay fit and healthy. You don't have to come to every week but once you have been to a few you'll be addicted and want to go every morning even when there isn't any training! In the sessions we typically do sets focusing on a combination endurance, speed, technique or power. Afterwards we go to the student Union for breakfast. Add yourself to the early mailing list here.

Bronze Medallion Training

Up until Christmas we are working towards getting the Bronze Medallion and Life Support 1. Make sure you are added to the mailing list. There is also a forum to discuss any questions you may have.
