Christmas Meal

Update: This year we will be going to Yates (address) at 7pm for a couple of predrinks before dinner, so we don't all end up turning up separately!

It's coming to that wonderfully merry time of year where you can eat tonnes, get fat and get loads of presents!!

We shall be having our Christmas Meal at THE SLUG AND LETTUCE. We will be getting there from around half 7 on and food shall be served just after 8!

We will be having 3 courses and it will cost £14!!(yes only £14!).

If you could decide what you want as soon as possible and email me (secretary [at] sulsc [dot] org) or tell me in training. I will be collecting money and taking orders in training this Thursday (19th Nov) and next Tuesday (24th Nov) (which will be the last day to order!)

The menu is:

STARTERS:

  1. HONEY-ROASTED PARSNIP & ROSEMARY SOUP
    Served with bread and butter. (V)
  2. MUSHROOM & STILTON BRUSCHETTA
    Toasted ciabatta, topped with mushrooms, Stilton and peppercorn sauce. (V)
  3. KING PRAWN COCKTAIL
    Served on a bed of crispy iceberg lettuce, with a cocktail sauce and bread & butter.
  4. CHICKEN LIVER, PORK & HEATHER HONEY PATE
    Served with red onion chutney and toasted bread

MAIN:

All served with roasted parsnips, potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

  1. ROAST TURKEY
    Served with all of the festive trimmings – Cumberland chipolata sausage wrapped in bacon and a rosemary & mushroom stuffing.
  2. SLOW-COOKED BEEF RIB
    With Tewkesbury mustard gravy.
  3. GRILLED SALMON With a champagne & watercress sauce.
  4. CHRISTMAS NUT ROAST (V)

DESSERTS:

  1. BAKED VANILLA CHEESECAKE With red berries.
  2. CREAMY PROFITEROLES With warm chocolate sauce.
  3. CHRISTMAS PUDDING With brandy sauce.
  4. VANILLA DAIRY ICE CREAM
